The cocktail dress:

This dress is worn in semi informal occasions, usually at business functions. The length depends on custom or fashion in a particular geographical area. It may vary from just above the knee or just above the ankle. Usually, it can be worn with a jacket to match the dress which makes the outfit seem more formal. This style would then match a man's suite and tie.

The wedding dress:

This dress, also known as a gown, is worn by the bride on her wedding day. The dress is usually chosen by the bride. Her sense of style and personality is strongly depicted in this dress, as this would be considered the most important day in her life. She would therefore make sure that her wedding dress is really special. Depending on the culture or religion of the bride, the color of the gown could be vastly different from your own. The funky dress:

The word "funky" says it all. This dress is usually worn to express your feelings on a specific day or time. It could be made from almost anything one can dream up – plastic, bottle caps and odd looking materials are not uncommon. It is usually worn by the younger generations to parties or raves. The prom dress:

This dress, also known as a gown, is worn at a formal gathering or (black tie) function by young students. The dress has become very important in a young girl's life. The plus size dress:

This dress is usually larger than the normal dress sizes seen in department stores. This would equate into a larger bust to waist to hip measurements for a woman. There are many wonderful plus size styles available on the market.
