For the current day and age, there are even more styles of clocks available. Now you can find everything from a large wall clock to metal styles. While they don't necessarily work any differently, there is something quite charming about an old wooden clock that has a ticking sound and other moving parts. If you don't like these older looking clocks, then go with a more modern style. Contemporary clocks will definitely be a better fit in modern homes that use more light colored woods and even metal accents.
