Which is Better, Traditional Medicine or Alternative Medicine?
You have to stop and think about this. If you're brainwashed into thinking that FDA-approved medicines are the only things you should use to treat your ailments, then you're ignoring natural cures. Doctors in the US aren't allowed to prescribe anything that isn't FDA-approved and they aren't trained in nutrition, so their solutions to your problems are limited.
Traditional Medicine
Aspirin (like Bayer), ibuprofen (like Motrin), acetaminophen (like Tylenol) and naproxen (like Aleve) are all available over-the-counter at lower doses and at higher doses by prescription. Aspirin and acetaminophen are both used primarily as pain killers (such as headaches) and for fever reduction.
While I've found no natural medicine to replace any of them, the best way to get rid of headaches is to get rid of what's causing them. Things like a lack of sleep, acute stress and tension are the primary culprits that produce headaches in the first place. Remove those causes and you don't need to take medicine for it. I rarely take headache medicine of any kind because I find that getting the right amount of sleep works much better.
For things like fever and severe lower back pain, I actually recommend using traditional drugs. There are no reliable natural cures for these ailments and you should never take chances with your health when it can cause you extreme pain or even death when you make the wrong choices.
Nature's Medicines
Some things are better left to nature. Modern medicine can't improve on things that nature already does well. A case in point: A doctor prescribed muscle relaxers when my wife suffered from intense lower back pain. It was caused by a kidney blockage, but they didn't check for that. I found a reference somewhere that told me she should flush her kidneys with a large amount of fruit juice high in citric acid.
She was laid up in bed for two weeks before I tried it. I forced her to drink a gallon of cranberry juice in the course of about an hour. She made multiple trips to the toilet but when it was all over, the pain was gone and she was back on her feet. This is only one example of things that I've used to cure conditions that traditional medicine isn't suited for.
Oregano and Olive Leaves
Frankly, I don't like oregano or olives, but you can't ignore the historical medical properties of oregano and olive leaves. Their usage dates back thousands of years and only within the last 20 years have they started to be used by Americans for things other than food.
Oregano has demonstrated antimicrobial activity against food-borne pathogens. In the Philippines, oregano (suganda in Tagalog) is not commonly used for cooking but is rather considered as a primarily medicinal plant, useful for relieving coughs and asthma among other things. Oregano extracts can be used internally and topically for multiple health benefits.
I don't know what the medicinal effects of olives themselves, but the leaves contain antioxidants as well as antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory healing properties. In fact, extracts made from the leaves contain almost double the antioxidants of green tea extracts and four times that of vitamin C. The anti-aging, immunostimulant and natural antibiotic properties make it an extract worth investigating.
It's Your Health and Your Decision
When you're dealing with your own health, it's up to you to decide whether traditional medicines or alternative medicines are what you'll be using. I personally believe you have to weigh your choices carefully and do a lot of research before you come to a decision about anything health-related. The wrong choices can cost you far more than your health.

Hi RT,

I can give you an inpost link from my website http://carlumbarsupporthelp.com ..
That's not my website. It's just someone I linked to.
Also I signed up an author under the name Ricky Covit. However when I log in I do not see any option to post the articles.
Do you need to approve my memberhsip?
You didn't read the line that says you have to request the upgrade through the contact form. It's in bold print, so I'm confused how anyone could miss it (and you're not the first).
I upgraded you anyway, based on this comment.
As mentioned pain can play havoc with other systems in your body. Recently read about "Tart Red Cherry" as a supplement, the claim in the nutritional guide was this is the natural alternative for ibuprofen. It even stated this cherry is more effective and of course without the side effects. An article I posted back in 2003 stated the medical system was the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S., I wonder if it made #2 yet?
Regards..
