Starting an Internet business and making a website are two different things. I just got another email from a person who was full of enthusiasm, but the question was the same. I want to start a business, I can get a site, buy a domain, put some products on it and start selling, and can you help me with product leads? I love to see the passion, but I hate to see the misunderstanding. What this tells me is the Quick Buck propaganda is still alive. Somewhere, this person read about the quick buck and got jazzed up about it.
I wrote him back and asked a few soul searching questions, I haven't heard back yet.
The very old phrase of "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" means you can show people how to do something but you can't actually make them do it.
I must be a glutton for punishment. I continue to be frustrated by people who refuse to act on the information I provide in getting them started. Despite my frustration, I keep trying to help people make money online with AdSense the same way I've been making money online for months.
Fast food and fast money – is that the right mindset for starting a successful Internet business? If you judge by how unhealthy fast food is, then a fast money diet won't be any better for you.
The question is "What is the right mindset?" Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you how I approach this. Here's the way I like to start: "I am strong enough to accept failure, but I can't accept not trying."
