Posturown.com is an excellent example of a quality article directory. Rather than simply accepting nonsensical spun content, each post appearing on this site is checked to ensure its quality. There is a growing number of sites, like this one, that allow registered users to submit content and in return for providing content, get a link back to their site and possibly a share of the directory's revenue at some stage in the future.
Link building has always been one of the key factors in the success of a website. In fact, before search engines existed you either needed the URL of the site or you had to find the link somewhere. Most site owners know the importance of links to improve their sites and new services that make this process easier are becoming more affordable.
