Internet Marketing and Passionate Writing
The biggest problem facing Internet marketers is that most of them do not like to write. The reason it's a problem is because the search engines rely on the content being text more than anything else. Internet marketing which relies on social traffic doesn't require as much writing, but some writing is still required.
Types of Writers
There are several types of writers when it comes to Internet marketing, but I can only identify those I've had experience with. The most successful Internet marketers, those that actually make money online, are those who are both passionate and knowledgeable about the things they're writing about.
When it comes to writing, you have three choices: Write about things you're passionate and knowledgeable about, write about things you're passionate about and are willing to learn more about, or write about things you're neither passionate nor knowledgeable about.
The Internet marketers that fail the most are the ones who make the third choice. Obtaining knowledge about something you're passionate about is difficult and obtaining knowledge about something you're not passionate about is even more difficult. If you're working the third choice, you'll probably give up long before you've given yourself a chance to succeed.
Those of you that make the second choice have to work harder than those who make the first choice, but you can still succeed. Research into something you're passionate about doesn't seem like a lot of work even when it is. For example, I'm passionate about drinking coffee and tea, so I started a blog about coffee and tea. Some of what I write there requires research and some of it doesn't. My passion, however, makes it easy for me to write about those subjects.
Those of you that make the first choice will always succeed, but it's still not a bed of roses. Every person has a finite amount of knowledge on any subject in existence. Eventually, you will lose steam and run out of things to write about. The upside is that you'll probably be successful before you get to point.
Writing Frequency
Passionate writers can write one or more articles per day and continue like that for a long time. Others tend to write less often, sometimes only once or twice a month.
Writing frequency is only important when you start a website. Readers and search engines alike need quite a bit of content to chew on in the beginning and not so much so as time progresses. It really doesn't matter what kind of website it is (other than an online store) because the principle is always the same: You need enough content to keep people interested. If people are interested, the search engines will be too (due to being linked to and mentioned).
I have a few blogs with subjects I'm passionate about and the problem I face is the time to actually work on them. There are only so many hours in a day and non-Internet life takes up the majority of them. Fortunately, I put a lot of content in place before getting into this position, so even the least worked on still gets daily visitors.
Content Spinning
Some Internet marketers, those that don't like to write, rely on content spinners to do the writing for them. Content spinners come in a variety of flavors, so I won't go into detail. The problem with content spinners is that, in my opinion, they require as much work to make the result look like legitimate fresh content as it does just to write the fresh content in the first place.
I have never relied on content spinners and I doubt I ever will. I've been to a few sites where they've been used and you can tell the content was spun from something else. Improper grammar, improper synonyms and the order the content falls into place gives it away. The folks employed by Leapforce make their living by identifying sites like these (among others) and reporting them.
It's so much easier to simply pick a subject where you can employ passionate writing. If you do, you won't have to work very hard and you won't have to rely on anything but your own writing skills.
