Hit More Fairways Off The Tee

One of the most challenging aspects of driving a golf ball is keeping it in the fairway. When you miss a fairway it can cost you at least one stroke, and if it's out of bounds it will cost you 2 strokes and a "re-tee" now hitting 3. Learning how to improve golf driving accuracy should be a priority for any golfer looking to shoot lower golf scores.

There is definitely a way to hit straight drives, but it's too bad most beginner and amateur golfers don't work on it, and continue to miss the fairway at least 50% of the time. First off, you've got to swing at about 60% effort so that it is a controlled swing that contacts the golf ball squarely on your clubface. Once you get your swing sequence down from swinging slowly, you can up it just a bit. You'll soon find out what percentage you can swing at and keep it in play.

The biggest culprit for most beginner golfers is swinging way too hard, trying to kill it, and your swing sequence is off by a country mile. When your downswing is out of whack, you will never come into the ball squarely. This will cause anything from a pop up shot, a thin one, toe shot that goes weak and right, or even worse, a smother hook that goes hard left so fast you better move your left foot out of the way, because your ball might hit it. This is an ugly golf shot, and downright humiliating. It doesn't have to be that way. You can slow your golf swing down. Swing with total control. And hit the ball straight and reasonably long because of the solid ball/clubface contact you get. Give this a try, and I'll bet you hit more fairways, and shoot much lower golf scores.
