One of the first things you will do when you plan your wedding is to find a wedding invitation. If you like arts and crafts then you will love the idea of creating your themed wedding invitation. You have a few options when it comes to wedding invitations. The first is you can do some research on the internet. You can shop your local stores, or you can hand make your very own wedding invitations. You can choose any option you wish. If you live in a state that has local beaches why not have a beach themed wedding, and make suitable invitations. A scalloped shaped invitation with tiny seashells glued to the invitation. Perhaps place some glue on the invitation and sprinkle some white sand on the paper. Along the same line, you could make a flip flop shaped invitation with the sand and shells. A great idea is placing your invitation in a bottle, as if you had found the message, or invitation, in a bottle. You will probably have to deliver those invitations yourself. But they are perfect handmade wedding invitations.
Now let us think about a spring themed wedding invitation. This is a rather easy theme to create. Have a flowered card stock for your invitation, and make up a romantic poem to write inside. You might add a pressed rose or any flower to the envelope that the invitation is in. That would make a great looking invitation. You could make a flower shaped invitation, and decorate it with ribbon or special scrapbook papers.
Why not have a color themed wedding. Let us choose the color red for today. Think about what the color red signifies. It means love and romance. Men give the women they love red roses. For the red themed invitation, you could have the invitation be a red rose color, and use gold or white text. Or the opposite, use ivory background with a red rose text. Place a dried red rose inside each invitation. Have a red ribbon as a closure for your invitation.
Let us get way out there and have a Christmas time wedding. Not necessarily on Christmas day, but close to that holiday. Your invitations could be snowman themed, or snowflakes. A Christmas tree graphic with text inside would make a fun invitation. You could also use red and white, or silver and gold for wonderful additions to the Christmas themed wedding invitations.
I saved the most interesting theme for last. I am thinking about a masquerade themed wedding. Every one would come dressed in costume. The bride and groom would be Cinderella and the Prince. It would be a pure fantasy wedding for your guests and yourself. The invitation would have to be really thought out to match the theme. My idea would be to have a picture of a castle on the front of the invitation, and on the inside the important information inviting your guests. The perfect color for this wedding? Pink wedding invitations, of course!
