Cleansing the Body
The body is exposed to many factors that make the skin dull and lifeless, and make you feel tired. These factors include smoking, alcohol, processed foods, late nights, and stress. That is why it is important that the body be subjected to a cleansing routine.
Cleansing the body is equivalent to spring-cleaning. This is how to do it:
- Follow a raw fruit and vegetable fast. Fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals ¹ that help ward off premature ageing and development of degenerative diseases ². Following this fasting temporarily will reduce body pressure and stimulate the liver's excretion process.
- Begin this detoxification routine on a weekend or when your schedule allows you to do it. Signs will show like fatigue, headaches, muscle pains, unsettled emotions, diarrhea, tiredness or skin breakouts. Eat small meals and drink juice every 2-3 hours to make your body's blood sugar constant.
- Know the don'ts while detoxifying. Do not do this routine when pregnant, diabetic, epileptic, anemic, or suffering from a serious illness.
Work on a goal to include this one-day detox into your lifestyle and on a regular basis. Consult an expert for guidance when you aim for a more intensive routine.
For more effective results, aid your digestion and cleanse your palate, drink a cup of boiling water with the juice of half a lemon in the morning. It will also be best to take good multivitamin and vitamin B complexes, or milk thistles to supplement the routine.
You will also need to invest in a juicer, not a blender, to be able to make varieties of fruit and vegetable drinks. When your juice is ready, sip it slowly to make it go with your saliva to enhance digestion. Drink a liter of water to make the whole routine effective and to flush the toxins.
