If you like going to the beach and being right in the middle of a lot of people, high rise beach front hotels, and more hotels and restaurants than you can shake a stick at then Myrtle Beach is the place for you. I personally like having all that this area offers but can handle it better by being a little removed from the heart of downtown. In fact I like it better to stay in a more natural setting. Fortunately there are a number of options if you want to get out of town. What I am getting at, and what I enjoy when I visit Myrtle Beach, is to stay in a campground.

A warm summer day, a beautiful blue sky and an opportunity to spend the day at the park. It gets better. The park lies on the shore of a lake that is cool and refreshing, perfect for swimming. It sounds great and the kids are excited to go. You begin to put your things together. Some food, drinks, toys, clothes and whatever else you think you might need. You get in the car, get a nice spot on the lakeside beach and realize you have no towels.
Don't let this happen to you. If you go on an outing that is outside of your normal routine, you are much more likely to forget something. There are some easy ways to avoid this oops-I-forgot problem when you are going on an outdoor outing.

The beach at Harvey Cedars, LBI
Barrier beaches in New Jersey host tens of thousands of summer tourists during summer weekends. One of these destinations is the roughly twenty miles, north to south, of Long Beach Island. The length of the island means there are a number of communities located there. Each shares similarities with other Jersey shore beach towns but each town also has its own distinctive personality. The personality part comes as a result of each location having grown separately from their neighbors. The heavily developed areas they are today are relatively new when compared to some of the well established large cities that are within a few hours' drive of Long Beach Island. If you live in New Jersey, New York City or the Philadelphia area, Seaside Heights is a great place to visit the beach. If you have never visited the town before, this post will tell you a bit about what you can expect to find and why you may want to consider going there. I know you may think the official summer vacation season ended a few weeks ago but there is still time to have some fun at the beach. September means the crowds are gone, Seaside Heights hotels have lowered their prices and the ocean is the warmest it will be all year.
